Stacja NBC postanowiła przywrócić do życia hit lat 80. - serial "Knight Rider" ("Nieustraszony"). Do projektu zaangażowany został Doug Liman ("Mr&Mrs. Smith", "Tożsamość Bourne'a").
Jak donosi "Variety" stacja planuje przygotować dwugodzinny pilot, który pokaże jeszcze w tym sezonie. Jeśli pilot się spodoba, powstanie cała seria, która trafiłaby na telewizyjne ekrany jesienią 2008 roku.
Liman, który miałby czuwać nad projektem od strony produkcyjnej nie wyklucza również, że będzie także jego reżyserem.

Ponoć decyzja o wznowieniu popularnej serii inspirowana była sukcesem obrazu "Transformers".
Technologia produkcji telewizyjnych pozwala już bowiem osiągnąć efekty specjalne bliskie kinu s-f.
Możliwe, że w nowej serii zobaczymy także "złe" samochody, które miałyby stanowić przeciwwagę dla heroicznego K.I.T.T -a.
